We evaluate potential Manager partners on three main criteria:
- Investment Team: We look for exceptionally talented teams with strong character and distinguished pedigree and/or experience that can articulate their strategy and are highly passionate about their work.
- Investment Strategy/Fund: Successful strategies have well defined philosophy, process and risk controls, a compelling track record, and an edge through an identifiable and persistent source of alpha. Appropriate vehicles for target investors must exist, and the strategy must have a minimum of $200 million in additional capacity available for placement.
- Business/Organization: We seek Managers with a strong business and high priority on investment performance. They must be highly ethical and have a strong culture of compliance. A robust infrastructure suitable for institutional investors and top-tier service providers must also be present.
JLT Capital seeks to work with a small number of exceptional asset managers. We partner with Managers on an exclusive basis, whether by region, product, or specific targeted channels of distribution. Our selection process involves extensive due diligence to ensure proper fit with JLT Capital, and to gain a complete understanding of the Fund offering and its appropriateness for the desired investor base. We will only represent managers with non-competing and non-overlapping strategies.
